Music For Modern Times
Billy Shaw

"I've touched alotta different bases with a number of fascinating and satisfying musical Phases. Some of them have been pretty obscure. Lately, I've been revisiting the times and tide that became Shovin' Sunshine. Over the last ten years or so since the advent of Death Jazz as we knew and practiced it, I've spent time on new instruments and new formats for the production of artscaped acoustically oriented avant garde.

"I see a personal and social renaissance in the organic simplicity of a traditional three-piece band making just as much noise as humanly possible."

"The !Sassy! re-issue is my newest project. And... I've got hundreds of hours of collaborative art pieced together with fellow travelers over the last coupla decades. I'm using them as backdrops to my playing, artscapes over which I manage to add even more noise! And like the [nearly correct] bumper sticker [almost] says, 'He who dies with the most noise wins.' Well, I've got enough noise for us all to be winners! Nobody ever accused me of not making alotta noise."
